Most people think of winter holidays when they hear the word “Tyrol”. But even in summer, Tyrol is an attractive region to spend your holidays there. The imposing landscape, the wonderful climate, the great hospitality of the locals and the extensive range of leisure activities qualify Ehrwald as a place for regenerative and sporty holidays.
The mountains in the area offer hiking opportunities for every level. Hikes to various pastures, which can be easily reached by lift, are suitable for everyone. If you are looking for more of a challenge, you can set off on demanding hikes and via ferratas directly from Haus Alpenblume (various multi-day tours with overnight stays in huts are also possible). On the way, hut restaurants invite you to a small "culinary reward". If you sit with a cozy coffee on the Alm, you shouldn't be surprised if cyclists climb the mountain via the same path. A few years ago, the Zugspitz Arena established itself as Europe's mountain bike paradise. Bike routes for amateurs and experienced bikers alike are marked around Ehrwald, and there is also a “free ride trail” in the neighboring town of Lermoos.
If you are traveling with children, the range of leisure options offers far more than just the easy, child-friendly hikes mentioned above. There are several swimming pools in the immediate vicinity of Haus Alpenblume: in Lermoos, for example, there is a beautiful outdoor pool and in Ehrwald there is an indoor pool. If you are looking for a change, you can immerse yourself in one of the many clear lakes, ice-cold mountain lakes or one of the natural pools. The companies that organize ski lessons in winter offer different activities for children in summer: mountaineering, pirate festivals, canyoning, etc.
In Berwang, a petting zoo with a large children's playground awaits the little guests (approx. 20 minutes' drive). In the neighboring town of Biberwier, not only a summer toboggan run extends from the Alm, but also an "Alpine Trike" and "Monster Roller" run for the larger guests. If the weather in Ehrwald offers a bit more "humidity", the climbing and tennis hall provide variety.
Ehrwald recently offered golfers a 9-hole course, although golfing has faded somewhat due to the breathtaking backdrop. After a drive of about 60 minutes you can also reach several fantastic 18-hole courses.
